چکیده

The most prevalent subtype of diabetes is Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus which results from an abnormal postprandial increase in blood glucose. Inhibition the carbohydrate-hydrolysing enzymes (alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase) human digestive organs can control glucose levels, making it important strategy management Mellitus. A majority oral synthetic drugs have been developed to treat are expensive undesirable side effects. As a result, plant-derived remedies become preferred alternatives as they easily available, affordable less harmful. Angustine (1) major constituent Nauclea subdita (Korth.) Steud., (E)-labda-8(17),12-dien-15,16-dial (2) zerumin (3) Alpinia pahangensis Ridley were evaluated for their α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. (E)-Labda-8(17),12-dien-15,16-dial (IC50 = 39.7 μM) was identified potent inhibitor among all three, followed by angustine 48.1 53.3 μM). Enzyme kinetic studies indicated that mixed-type inhibitor, while (2), non-competitive inhibitors. Molecular docking molecular dynamics (MD) simulation performed predict key interactions between ligands target protein, 1AGM (complex acarbose with glucoamylase Aspergillus awamori). study binding interaction energy suggested has potential be used natural drug lead treatment type mellitus.

Primary Screening for Natural Inhibitorsagainst Eukaryotic Signaltransduction from Selected Medicinal Plants in Sabah, Malaysia

The protein kinases and phosphatases in the signal transduction pathways play a vital role in mitogen activated protein (MAP) kinase signal transduction, tumorigenesis, apoptosis, and cancer metastasis. In this study, genetically engineered yeast strains were used as a model in the search for potential inhibitors against these signalling elements. Eleven species of medicinal plants were selecte...
